Winglights

What are WingLights?

Open tab

WingLights are direction indicators for bicycles. They attach quickly and easily via the hollow space found in most handlebars. WingLights are lightweight, waterproof, shockproof, and designed to promote a long battery life. The direction indicators for bikes are easy to install, simple to use, and provide an invaluable service to cyclists of all levels.

What are WingLights for?

Open tab

WingLights serve the same purpose as indicators do on cars: they alert cars, other bicycles and pedestrians of where and when a cyclist is due to turn.

How are WingLights activated?

Open tab

WingLights are turned on and off by simply pressing the buttons positioned on the ends of the device. They turn off automatically after 45 seconds to prevent power wastage.

How do WingLights attach to the handlebars?

Open tab

WingLights come in two simple to use varieties. Both are anchored in the hollow space found in handlebars, the difference between the two being one features a magnetic component and one does not. For specific information on how to install your WingLights check out our video guides.

What size handle bars do WingLights fit?

Open tab

All WingLights come with standard mounts which will fit into handlebars with an inner diameter of 14.9 to 22.0 mm.

Can I install the WingLights mounts myself?

Open tab

Yes! WingLights installation is quick and easy. The process takes under ten minutes and can be done at home. For a comprehensive guide check out our instructional videos

Are WingLights suitable for any handlebars?

Open tab

Our current WingLights models are designed for straight (sometimes referred to as flat) handlebars and curved handlebars with a maximum curvature of 30°. While they are not designed to be compatible with drop bars, bullhorn handlebars, or cruise bars, we are currently in the process of designing a range of mounts suitable for these varieties.

Can I use WingLights on Brompton folding bikes?

Open tab

Of course! We do, however, recommend buying WingLights Mag as these WingLights can be detached and safely stored on a keyring.

Are WingLights suitable for e-scooters?

Open tab

Yes! We recommend using our WingLights E-scooter Adaptor for the best fit and pairing it with the WingLights 360 Fixed or Mag so you have the added benefit of sidelights (white = forward facing, red = rear facing) lights as well indicators. The permanent sidelight function available on the 360 models means the width of your scooter will be highlighted in low light or in the dark.

Can I use WingLights with twist shifters?

Open tab

Yes - WingLights can be installed on bicycles with side-mounted shifters.

Whats the difference between WingLights v1,v2 and v3?

Open tab

We have now released the 3rd version of Winglights Fixed and WingLights Mag. The 3rd version of both models is more visible to motorists and has a longer battery life thanks to the use of brighter and more energy efficient orange LEDs and an orange-tinted transparent shield instead of white LEDs and an orange shield. Furthermore, WingLights Mag v3 are guaranteed to stay firmly in place when traveling on rough/bumpy surfaces thanks to our new screw-in mounting system.

Are WingLights respecting every legal requirement?

Open tab

Yes! WingLights are designed to satisfy all current rules and regulations, and are manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner

Pollution Scarf

What is the CYCL Face Guard Pollution Scarf?

Open tab

An anti-pollution filter and scarf in one, Face Guard Pollution Scarf provides protection from smog, dust, and allergens whilst keeping your neck warm. A nanofiber membrane is integrated into the scarf which filters particles and pollution.
Designed with comfort, utility and everyday use in mind; it has an adjustable nose strip and elastic closure to provide minimal air leakage for any face shape.

How to wash and care for the Pollution Scarf?

Open tab

We recommend handwashing your Pollution Scarf. It must be washed very carefully as not to damage the nanofiber filter (wash it softly in water with soap or gentle washing detergent). Do not use bleach, softeners or other aggressive detergents. Do not try the Scarf in a dryer and do not iron it. Let the Scarf hang freely on a line to dry out for 12 to 24 hours.

If you follow these instructions, the Scarf can maintain its filtration efficiency even after dozens of washing cycles (we recommend 50 washing cycles). This methodology was verified by an independent test carried out by the Engineering Test Institute.

How often should I wash the Scarf?

Open tab

If you use the Scarf for protection against dust smog or allergens, it is sufficient to wash it after several days of intensive wear. To achieve protection against viruses, bacteria or mites, it is recommended to wash it after a single use – otherwise there could be a risk that the micro-organism intercepted by the filter would spread and multiply. A similar recommendation applies in the case of an illness where you protect others from yourself (e.g. when people around you have a weakened immune system after illness).

Please follow the care instructions we provide on the website and packaging.

How do you wear the Pollution Scarf?

Open tab

Pull the scarf over your head so it sits around your neck. Pull the scarf up around your face when in use. To achieve 100% of the Face Guard Pollution Scarf filtration efficiency, it must be worn so that its rectangular filter shields your mouth and nose. To ensure a tight fit you must adjust both the tightness of the elastic band at the back of your head and the shape of the adjustable metal clip on your nose. The nose clip is padded with a soft foam layer therefor there are no pressure points even after a longer wear. Unlike a face mask, the Face Guard Pollution Scarf can be worn already around the neck and when you need protection you can pull it over your nose quickly.

How does the scarf sit securely on my face?

Open tab

When designing, close attention was paid to nose-cheek and below-chin parts. The construction of the scarf insures that there are no gaps, thanks to the overall shape, elements, length and other design characteristics.

When worn correctly, the air should only pass through the area of the Scarf with the nanofiber membrane in the front area.

The material of the filter underwent testing in an American microbiological institute  Nelson Labs which tested the level of its filtration efficiency for viruses and bacteria with both of the tests showing 99.9% of filtration efficiency.

Will the filter layer ever get "clogged up" by pollutants?

Open tab

The whole scarf, including the nanofiber filter inside, is washable. Refer to our care instructions and hand wash, especially if you notice any visible build up, hang to dry and you're good to go. We recommend that you hand wash with water temperature under 30C and air dry only. Use a gentle soap but do not use fabric conditioner as this could impact the effectiveness of the product.

Do not iron.

Will the fabric's filtration properties wear down over time, or with washing?

Open tab

You can hand wash the CYCL Pollution Scarf any time. The nanofiber filter is washable, which is one of its best benefits. The efficiency of the nanofiber filter will decrease over time depending on the environment and how frequently you use it and wash it. You can count on perfect pollution protection for 7-12 months (or up to 50 washes) dependent on use.

Do I need to replace the nanofiber filter? If so, how often?

Open tab

You don't have to worry about buying any filters with the CYCL Pollution Scarf. The technology is washable so we recommend hand washing occasionally. The filter's lifetime really depends on the environment and how often you use it. You can count on perfect pollution protection for 7-12 months (or up to 50 washes).

What are BFE, VFE and PFE, and what is the importance of them?

Open tab

According to the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), masks need to pass various filtration efficiency tests before they are launched on the market and be clearly marked on the packaging. Most masks in the United States pass the Nelson Laboratory Standard to test the filter rate of masks.

European, Taiwan and Japanese masks are tested with BFEW and VFEW particulate filter rate results.

Standard

BFE (bacteria filtration efficiency)

Particle Size

3 microns

VFE (virus filtration efficiency)

Particle Size

0.1-5 microns (average 2.8 microns)

The different particulate filtration rates of the mask are generally represented as percentages. VFE is the highest filtration rate standard. Pay attention to the percentage of relevant standards before purchasing. The higher the number, the more it can block more particles in the air. According to the standards, only the BFE test is not sufficient to block the virus from droplets, and it is better if the VFE is marked as 95% or more.

The nanofiber membrane in the Face Guard Pollution Scarf has been tested according to ASTM F2100 and EN 14683.

What are the technical specifications?

Open tab

Check out our Technical Sheet for more information about the nanofiber filter system.

Can the Face Guard Pollution Scarf protect me from viruses such as influenza?

Open tab

The CYCL Face Guard Pollution Scarf does not belong to the equipment for the medical or professional use that would be certified by official standards, but when it is used properly it can be an effective shield against airborne diseases. The development and product of the filter is carried out in the EU, specifically Czech Republic and Poland.

While nanofiber face masks belong to a one-time equipment category, because of its wash-ability, the Face Guard Pollution Scarf can be used repeatedly. The filter is covered by a special textile layer which makes it more durable in terms of wear and care.

Is the Face Guard Pollution Scarf a good alternative to a face mask?

The Scarf can be a cheaper and more eco friendly option than single use face masks. In addition, to achieve the highest level of protection, it is necessary to stick to the basic principles of hygiene, washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and using antibacterial gels when soap and water is not available. Also, avoid touching your face and eyes during times of flu or similar infectious disease. Avoiding places where there is a possibility of getting infected.

If you want to wear the Scarf continuously, we recommend getting two, while you are wearing one, the other one is being washed or drying out.
